Chronic pain affects millions of individuals worldwide, often impairing daily functioning and diminishing quality of life. Traditional pain management approaches, such as opioid medications, carry a risk of dependence and adverse side effects. Cannabis, with its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, offers a promising alternative for managing pain. Both THC and CBD have demonstrated efficacy in alleviating various types of pain, including neuropathic pain, inflammatory pain, and cancer-related pain. Moreover, cannabis may offer a safer option for long-term pain management, with fewer risks of tolerance and addiction compared to opioids. However, more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms underlying cannabis’ pain-relieving effects and optimize its therapeutic potential.
